Welcome to the Cancer Patients' Signpost, a compassionate project designed to offer support and guidance to those navigating their cancer journey. Developed for Huyse Nestelt, a walk-in house in Eeklo, this project aims to provide cancer patients with a comprehensive directory of various locations that may be of interest to them.

As part of this meaningful endeavor, I took up the challenge of creating an intuitive and user-friendly signpost using vanilla JavaScript and Mapbox. The focus was to ensure that cancer patients could easily find information on a wide range of locations that could aid them during their treatment and recovery.

The Cancer Patients' Signpost is more than just a directory; it's a symbol of hope and care. With a vast array of locations, including hospitals, support groups, pharmacies, wellness centers, and more, patients can explore resources that are readily available to them.

To seamlessly integrate this signpost into Huyse Nestelt's website, I implemented it as an iframe in Wix. By doing so, the owners of Huyse Nestelt can conveniently access and manage data about these locations through the Wix database. This dynamic integration ensures that the information on the signpost remains up-to-date and relevant for patients.

The use of Mapbox enhances the signpost's functionality, providing an interactive and visually appealing mapping experience. Patients can easily locate different locations and access essential information, such as contact details, opening hours, and services offered.

The Cancer Patients' Signpost is a testament to the power of technology in supporting and uplifting communities facing challenging circumstances. It reflects the values of Huyse Nestelt, a place of warmth and care, where patients and their loved ones can find solace and resources to ease their journey.
